Boyd Merrill retired for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) after 30 years of service. Prior to joining the RCMP he worked for 5 years as a full time Correctional Youth Counselor /Officer while he attended university full time.
In addition to specialized policing duties, he served as an elected RCMP Labour Relations Representative. Boyd spend years assisting others with serious problems including mental health issues – some of those in mental crisis.
Boyd was one of the original employees on the RCMP National Health Committee who framed the RCMP National B Division (NL) Mental Health Strategy in 2016.
Boyd is a 32 degree Scottish Rite Freemason and a Scottish Lodge Master Mason. He is currently the RW Master of Lodge Conception in CBS, NL
Boyd gives information, knowledge and experience, but most of all, hope.
