Earl Ludlow
Earl Ludlow, ONL, P. Eng., FCAE is a native of Fogo Island. For nearly four decades, he held progressive roles at Fortis Group with a scope spanning Canada, the United States, Central America and the Caribbean. He retired as EVP and Operational Advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer in 2017. In addition to his professional career, Earl has had a lifelong commitment to community volunteerism, championing education, healthcare, and rural Newfoundland. He is the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding contributions to the community, is a member of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador and its advisory council and was designated as the Humanitarian of the Year by the Canadian Red Cross in 2010. In 2022, Earl was appointed Chancellor of Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is also currently Chair of Altius Renewable Royalties Corp (TSE: ARR) and Shorefast Social Enterprises Inc. His former volunteer positions include Chair of the NL Government’s Independent Appointments Commission, Chair of Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, Vice Chair of the Rooms, Chair of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires NL. He also served as the Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment 1st Battalion.
